“Acacia–A great neighborhood spot”

We love Acacia. I had a birthday party there in November, which could not have been more perfect. We ate there again last Sunday. The menu had new “summer” items and everyone at our table ordered something different and we tasted it all. There wasn’t a bad dish in the bunch. Really a lovely place, great food and excellent service. An added bonus is access–we took my 90 year old mother who cannot do stairs and you can part right by the door and walk in with no steps!

We have dined at Acacia for probably 20 years now. Over the years it has changed hands and we will admit that we stopped going there for a period of time. But we recently took a look at the website/menu and realized that a new chef/owner was in place and wanted to give it a try. We dined there last Saturday evening and were impressed with both the food and the service.

The halibut special over risotto was beautifully prepared. The menu is varied and creative, using seasonal ingredients. Our server, Dagmar, was pleasant and professional, giving us excellent service. To our delight, before we left we saw that Terry, one of the servers we knew and loved from years back is still there. To the readers of this review, if you stopped going to Acacia because it seemed downhill a number of years ago, please go back. You will be pleasantly impressed!

“A local gem not to be missed”

Acacia has been open for over 20 years and ownership has changed a couple of times.We had dinner last night and were pleasantly surprised how excellent the meal was.I had the 2 specials sweet and sour shrimp appetizer which was cooked perfectly.The shrimp were cooked to the right consistency and it was accompanied with bok choy,and pickled onions amongst other vegetables.The other special was halibut with a vegetable risotto.The halibut was very fresh an the risotto was done to perfection.My wife had an arugula salad with orange slices and goat cheese and a vegetarian pasta with local spring vegetables.She enjoyed both dishes.We were too full for desert,but there is a nice selection on their desert menu.Iy is also B.Y.O.B which also is a plus.The prices are very reasonable.The service was excellent and Dagmar our server was very efficient making sure we were enjoying each course.We will return very soon
